Adam & Lydia

Hey! I'm Lydia!

Hey guys, Lydia here! If you send a message to our instagram page, @thegreenplant.az, you're likely hearing from me! Although I initially sought out plants as a way to bring a little bit of nature into my home, it soon became a huge solace when I worked in a job that was sucking the life out of me on a daily basis. I found a new sense of joy and community through plants that I will forever be grateful for.

In 2019, just a few months before the pandemic, I had this idea to turn my passions for plants into a business. I wanted nothing more than to bring these plants that were bringing me so much joy, into the home of others! My bestie, Jessi, was willing to join in on my crazy idea and that's how The Green Plant was born. Although Jessi is no longer legally part of the business, she continues to be one of my biggest supports and TGP would not be what it is today without her.

A month before the world shut down due to the pandemic, I finally decided to take a HUGE leap of faith and quit the job that was breaking me mentally, physically and emotionally. Since then, I have been on a wild journey of filling your homes with plants that I carefully care for and love on each day. It has been such a fulfilling and surreal dream to be able to do what I love so deeply and passionately on a daily basis. All I can say is a huge THANK YOU to all of our supporters for supporting our small business, sending kind messages and continuing to believe and entrust us to bring you happy, healthy plants. Truly you all mean the world to me and we are so incredibly lucky to have you!

Much love,

Lydia

Hi! I'm Adam!

My name is Adam from the Instagram/YouTube channel @knotdude. Plants have been a huge therapy for me when I didn’t even know that I needed them. Plants entered my life at a time when I was really struggling with my identity. I didn’t like who I was or who I was pretending to be rather. My plants didn’t care. They provided my life with copious amounts of joy as I navigated coming to terms with my authentic self. I have been growing plants in my home for the better part of 5 years and have learned a lot from these green babes.

After moving to Arizona in 2019, I noticed a shift in my houseplant collection. The desert can be brutal and a lot of my tropical foliage plants took a dive. My Hoya were thriving though! That’s when I really started to fall in love with the Hoya genus and their care aligned with the amount of work I was willing to put into my plants. They really can take some neglect.

All of these cuttings are from my own plants, that I love and care deeply about. I have taken care of these propagations from the moment they were snipped from the parent plant and now I am excited to share some of them with you!

Happy growing plant nerds!

Adam
